NBN is the fastest broadband available in Australia. Existing ADSL2 services range in speed from 1.5 Mbps to 24 Mbps. The further you are away from the exchange and the poorer (sometimes the older) the copper telephone lines the slower the speed you get from your internet. For example if you are about 4 Km from the exchange your speed will only be about 2 Mbps. The NBN has the potential to hit ultimately 1000 Mbps, and starts at 12 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. So there are enormous advantages in it's use.
